After two practices, on Tuesday and Wednesday, the Patriots held a walkthrough on Thursday.
Chris Hogan was the only player absent for the team’s third session of the week. Hogan appeared on the injury report on Wednesday with a thigh injury. The Patriots will hold their last practice of the week on Friday. If Hogan isn’t present, it’s not a good sign for his availability on Sunday.
The Pats are holding one more practice this week than they usually do. The players typically have Tuesday off, but with a short week last week, the Patriots took an extra day to prepare for the Kansas City Chiefs (5-0).
When practice started, it was notable that Sony Michel was on a stationary bike. The rookie running back returned to the injury report this week and has been limited with a knee injury. Michel started the season on the practice report, but was off it over the last two weeks.
With the running back depth chart at three — Michel, James White and Kenjon Barner — Michel’s status bares watching. The Pats also added Kenneth Farrow to the practice squad this week.
Michel was listed as ‘limited’ in Thursday’s walkthrough along with Josh Gordon (hamstring), Geneo Grissom (ankle), Rob Gronkowski (ankle), Sony Michel (knee), Eric Rowe (groin), John Simon (shoulder), Malcolm Brown (knee) and Danny Shelton (elbow).
