Fun Food Things to Do in R.I. and beyond for Oct. 19-21

Brews for Books fundraiser in Central Falls, Food Truck Night in Newport, a food truck festival for the family in Pawtucket, a Grange breakfast in North Kingstown and an afternoon of food and history in Warren are among the events.

The Adams Public Library, 205 Central St., Central Falls, will host Brews for Books on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. There will be beers from seven local breweries, music and a silent auction. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. They can be purchased at the library or online at adamspubliclibrary.org.

Friday, Oct. 19, is Food Truck Night at the Newport Craft Brewing & Distilling Co., 293 JT Connell Highway, Newport. Food trucks will be onsite from 5 to 8 p.m. and there’s live music until 9 p.m. Beer and cocktails will be served until 10 p.m. Admission is free and there’s free parking at 1 John H. Chafee Blvd.

It’s Pumpkins, Pints & Bountiful Bits on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 3 to 8 p.m., at The Guild, 461 Main St., Pawtucket, when Ocean State Food Truck Festivals presents an afternoon of fun for the whole family. There will be a bounce house, games, music, face painting, food trucks and beer.

Slocum Grange will serve breakfast on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 7 to 10 a.m. at the Grange Hall, 96 Slocum Rd., North Kingstown. The menu will include French toast, eggs with bacon or sausage, spinach and cheese omelets, home fries, jonnycakes, toast, oatmeal, orange juice and coffee, tea or cocoa. Baked goods will also be available for purchase. Tickets are $10 for adults, $4.50 for children 5-10 and free for children 4 and under.

The Warren Walkabout, on Sunday, Oct. 21, from noon to 5 p.m., is a festival of arts, food, independent businesses, history, a working waterfront and more. Park and walk, take the free trolley or hop on a pedicab to explore the historic downtown. There are plenty of eateries and cafes to try. Learn more at discoverwarren.com.

The Knights of Columbus will hold a Clam Cakes and Chowder Dinner at the Council Hall, 1265 Tower Hill Road, North Kingstown, on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Get all the clam cakes and chowder (red and white) you can eat for $13. There are only 120 tickets available. Get them by calling (401) 295-0507.

The Coast Guard House, 40 Ocean Rd., Narragansett, (401) 789-0700, thecoastguardhouse.com, will host a Burgundy North to South Wine Dinner on Friday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m. The cost is $89 exclusive of tax and gratuity. Reservations are required.

The 23rd Annual Boston Veg Food Fest will be held at the Reggie Lewis Athletic Center, 1350 Tremont St., on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. New England food purveyors will be joined by food producers from all over the U.S. and Canada. Admission and parking are free. There are a limited number of early admission tickets available for $5 for a preview hour beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
